Also Kira Team 2 succesfully earned promotion to DIV 2 being the best 2nd squad EVER!!!! Second Teams owns!

^ These. Actually, some dead clans merely renamed themselves. n2o to 4th Degree, D39 to DwF ("Bad Members"? . D39 was S5 Div. 9 champions), some scattered to MT (reborn), MR7 to ER7, so really few clans truly died, so to speak. I never thought MKR to be dead or dying?

All in all, a very great season, regardless of those who chose to leave. The Admins did a fabulous job and rather quickly than last season, adding players and updates, though the CTWs could have been handled a bit better.

But, Liquid, in their renaming there was such a seismic shift (for example, MR7 lost a lot of members before merging with Er which had no WCL-registered members) that some clans could not handle the WCL, so they died effectively from a WCL standpoint.

The real, sad story is, everybody just wanted me to not understand anything when back from holidays.

The fall of mariokartwii.com (at least for the past few days) reminds me a lot of one event in my past in particular.

Flash back to 2007, the days before Mario Kart Wii. Before something called Facebook caught fire. When Twitter was something so tiny it wasn't on anyone's radar. When the iPhone was something new to be marveled at.

The people at Nintendo of America actually had their own forum site back then. The NSider Forums. They'd been around in their then-current form since 2003.

Their history could be chronicled extensively (by me, mainly), but I will spare you the details.

By 2007, the forum's community had declined - not in numbers, but in quality. Spam overwhelmed the main forum.

The growth of the Wii had led to a shift in priorities, it had seemed, but only a minute one. The moderated chat had gone from three hours to one a weekday. The most alarming change up until the collapse had to do with Camp Hyrule, an even older institution that dated back to circa 1996. It was an online summer camp, held in mid-August (around this time of year), with a theme related to Nintendo products. You'd be grouped into one of ten cabins, etc. I'd been looking forward to Camp Hyrule 2007, since it would be my first in three years.

What actually came out was a sweepstakes for a life-size Link statue. Everybody was quite disappointed.

At this time, I was one of the few people that saw these forums' decline in context: I added to the spam with posts like "It's 476 A.D. - the fall of ancient Rome is upon us!" I was the apocalyptic who believed the end of the (NSider Forums) world was near.

I was unexpectedly right.

On 17 September 2007, at 11:24 am, I was sitting in a classroom at school. At that same minute, the last post was made: "SHADOW'S RACING MAMA LUIGI". At that same minute, Andy Hartpence refused to move to San Francisco – and so came the downfall of the NSider Forums. Unexpectedly. Looking back, the warning signs were there. Nintendo's online department was moving from Redmond, and Mr. Hartpence (who had a band, etc. in Seattle) wasn't budging. (He'd later wind up at Pokémon USA.)

The Middle Ages soon ensued, and a replacement forum assuaged most of the refugees. (I would leave in May 2008 because the decline just continued.)

Is a similar collapse underway in the Mario Kart Wii community?

I dont think so Raymie. ^^ They have a new admin.. And some moderators also. They should be able to keep up the site. But oh well. i dont know, and if then I will just stick to Worldclanleague.com and then you guys must get this under forum: Time Trials! x3 That is the only reason why I also go to mkw.com is bc wcl.com doesnt have a Time Trial sub forum.
